Shopmobility

At Hemel Hempstead Shopmobility we provide a range of wheelchairs and scooters, manual and battery operated. These are loaned, without charge, to users of the service.

The scheme is here to enable people with mobility difficulties, whether permanent or temporary, to get out and about for shopping and other activities.

We have 6,850 registered members, from Hemel Hempstead and as far away as Australia. On average we loan out 25 vehicles per day.

The service is available Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5.00pm. The first time you come to use the service, you will be asked to complete a simple registration form and provide some form of identity showing your name and address (a driving licence, utility bill or something similar).

Helping us with our work are:- The Marlowes Centre, Dacorum Action on Disability, Local Day Centres and N.H.S Social Workers, O.T.'s, Pracatice Nurses, etc.
