Paradise Furniture & Training
Paradise Furniture & Training is involved in both the re-distribution
of unwanted furniture and training hard to reach learners.
The learners are from marginalised communities including offenders/ex-offenders
and those at risk of offending, Gypsy & Traveller communities,
Refugees & Asylum Seekers, BME, NEET groups, young people excluded
from school and individuals recovering from mental and emotional
distress. There are volunteering opportunities/work experience either
in the warehouse or part of the furniture collections which run
every day.

Paradise Furniture & Training has two managers (1 part time,
1 full time) – Warehouse Manager and Training & Development
manager. There are a further 5 part-time staff and 5 regular volunteers.
Our referring agencies are NOMS, YOT’s, ASB Team, Progress
to work, Connexions, CMHT, CLDT, Jobcentre Plus and self referrals.
Our main funding during 2005/2006 is an LSC direct contract and
90 learners are engaged in this programme along with a further 40
engaged in arts and crafts. The learners are involved in the curriculum
area preparation for life and work.
Our funders include LSC, EQUAL, Community Safety Partnership, Connexions,
PS Plus, Awards for All, Community Foundation, Childrens Targeted
Services, Garfield Weston and Mercers Charitable Trust.
